I'm really looking forward to this weekend's Northwest Handmade Musical Instrument Exhibition in surburban Portland, OR. It'll be the show is less a selling venture than it is a great opportunity to reconnect with good friends in the Pac NW luthier community. Among those I'll enjoy seeing again is friend Pat Foster from the far eastern end of Washington state. Below are photos of two instruments I'll be showing. Note: the tricone is only in the second round of lacquering, so it looks a bit rough. But, I'm really excited at what the finish has done to enhance the natural beauty of the Padauk. The second instrument is the Australian lacewood/Lutz "trash" wood Grand Parlor that I already shared here. Sorry for the redundancy.

Wow, Resotacular! The padauk looks great and I like the basket weave grills and the black cover plate.
